Matildas superstar Sam Kerr is closing in on winning the 2020-21 Women's Super League Golden Boot as her Chelsea side look to wrap up the title this weekend.

Kerr is on 20 goals - two ahead of Arsenal goalscoring machine Vivianne Miedema - with the Blues playing Reading in their last WSL game and needing three points to secure the top division championship.

Clinching the WSL Golden Boot would be an incredible feat for Kerr, having won three top scorer awards in the NSWL and two in Australia's W-League.

Kerr's Chelsea lead Manchester City by two points with one game to play in the WSL championship race, with their title travelling to West Ham on the final day.

A point for the Blues might not be enough for the team to lift the trophy as Manchester City are only three goals behind on goal difference.

It's been a hugely successful season for Chelsea with the club on track for a history-making quadruple, having already won the FA Women's League Cup - with Kerr scoring a hat-trick in the final - and earning a place in Women's Champions League final against Spanish giants Barcelona.

The Blues are also still alive in the Women's FA Cup, with the fifth round to be played later this month.

Despite the individual Golden Boot accolade within her grasp, Kerr revealed she was fully focused on the team glory which is within Chelsea's grasp.

"It's [scoring] what I'm paid to do. I mean, more importantly, we've got to win the league on Sunday, and that's the most important thing to me," Kerr said to BT Sport.

"We'll deal with all that type of other stuff after."

Chelsea are the first English team to qualify for the Women's Champions League final, which will be played on May 17 (AEST) in Gothenburg, Sweden.
