Long-time Australian football pundit and former Socceroo midfielder Robbie Slater has confirmed he won't be a part of Paramount+'s Australian football coverage.

Slater, who has been a commentator and analyst at Fox Sports for over a decade, was touted as being a talent that could be looked at by the new streaming service, along with the likes of Adam Peacock, Mark Bosnich and Andy Harper.

Paramount+ won the rights to broadcast Australian international and domestic football off Fox Sports, paying around $500 million over the next five years.

However, in a recent interview on radio, Slater revealed he won't be on Paramount +'s' broadcast team, which will be covering the Socceroos, Matildas, A-League, W-League and FFA Cup among a swag of different competitions and events.

The 44-time Socceroo also admitted he was keen to join the Viacom-CBS owned network, which is affiliated with Network Ten in Australia.

"I won't be involved in Channel 10's Paramount+," Slater said on Triple M. "But that's fine, I had a great run.

"Would I have liked to be involved? Yes, I would have, but if my time's done, then my time's done."

PARAMOUNT+: Australia launch date, cost, football rights, A-League, Socceroos, Matildas and other content

Paramount+ - which will cost $8.99 a month - is set to launch in Australia on August 11 and will also stream entertainment such as television shows and movies alongside their sport offering.

It’s unclear as yet whether Paramount+ will offer different subscription tiers and what exactly is included for $8.99.

Most A-League clubs are offering discounts on subscriptions for fans as part of membership deals with a yearly subscription being offered for between $60 and $75.

Melbourne Victory are currently providing the biggest discount for fans with their $60 offer set to save fans $47.88 over the year.

Central Coast Mariners are offering the same deal for $70, while Western Sydney Wanderers and Sydney FC have gone with a $75 price point.
