Real Madrid ended the 2021/22 season on a high note. Not only did they win La Liga in Spain, but they were also crowned the Champions League winners by beating Liverpool.
However, a club like Los Blancos does not survive on memories and is obliged to win every year. With the core of the team still very much intact for another campaign, Carlo Ancelotti has already set new challenges.
Real Madrid knows its opponents for the upcoming season, with days and times set as they search for a 36th domestic title, hoping to add to their record haul. Barcelona follows with 26 titles, well ahead of Atletico Madrid (11), Athletic Bilbao (8) and Valencia (6).
The Sporting News brings you Real Madrid's complete fixture schedule for the 2022/23 Spanish top flight plus all the published dates for the Champions League, Copa del Rey, and Supercopa de Espana.

When does La Liga break for the 2022 World Cup?
The Spanish top flight, like all top European leagues, must break for the 2022 World Cup this November.
Due to the Qatar summer heat, the 2022 World Cup was moved to the winter to give athletes a safer playing environment. The World Cup will begin on November 21 and push through the final on December 18. Thus, La Liga must pause during that time, like all other leagues around the world.
FIFA has mandated that clubs must release players for World Cup duty by November 14. Real Madrid has its final fixture before the World Cup on November 9 at home against Cadiz, and then will return on December 31 for a pair of consecutive road games against Valladolid and Villarreal bracketing the turn of the calendar year.
Real Madrid fixtures in Champions League, Copa del Rey, Supercopa
As 2021/22 Champions League winners, Real Madrid will no doubt be considered contenders again in 2022/23. Madrid hold the most European championships in the continent, winning their 14th title with the win over Liverpool in May.
Additionally, Los Blancos will hope for a better showing in the domestic cup competition as they were dumped from the Copa del Rey in the quarterfinals last season at the hands of Athletic Bilbao. Real Madrid are the third-most successful club in Copa del Rey history, with 19 titles, four back of second-placed Athletic and a whopping 12 behind the competition's all-time leaders Barcelona.

Real Madrid vs Barcelona in El Clasico
Real Madrid fans look forward to the highly anticipated matchups against Barcelona every single season, and the 2022/23 campaign will be no different.
There are likely to be a number of meetings between the two world-famous clubs this coming season, but we have only three of them confirmed so far.
First, there was the July 23, 2022 preseason meeting at the brand new Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, Nevada, as Barcelona emerged victorious 1-0 on a goal by new arrival Raphinha.
In La Liga play, Real Madrid takes on Barcelona at the Bernabeu on October 16, 2022 set for a month before the 2022 World Cup break. The reverse fixture at the Camp Nou on March 19, 2023 breaks up an otherwise three-game home stretch for Madrid.
- July 23, 2022: Barcelona 1, Real Madrid 0
- Oct. 16, 2022: Real Madrid vs. Barcelona (Santiago Bernabeu)
- March 19, 2023: Barcelona vs. Real Madrid (Camp Nou)
The two clubs could potentially meet in the final of the Supercopa de Espana, with Real Madrid and Barcelona on opposite sides of the bracket. Real Madrid must beat Valencia, while Barcelona has to top Real Betis for the two clubs to meet in the final.
While it's possible that we could get an El Clasico in either the Copa del Rey or the Champions League as well, those will not be known until much later. Both teams will enter the Copa del Rey in the Round of 32, and neither side is able to match up until the quarterfinals of the Champions League due to the competition's rules regarding teams from the same country facing off.
