Despite ending their losing run on Saturday night with a 1-1 draw against Central Coast Mariners, Melbourne Victory are already planning a significant squad rebuild.
Currently bottom of the A-League with two wins from their first 13 games this season, Grant Brebner's side have struggled across the pitch.
With pressure mounting on Brebner, the club are also looking at which players they'd like to bring in with three candidates already being thrown into the ring.
According to former Socceroo Robbie Slater, Wellington Phoenix duo Ulises Davila and Cameron Devlin are targets for Victory, along with Mariners goalkeeper Mark Birighitti.
All three have impressed this year with Davila backing up after taking the A-League by storm last season and due to come off contract later this year.
While Victory are starting to assess their squad options, speculation also continues to swirl around the future of Brebner with Tony Popovic reportedly in talks with the club.
Brebner tried to play down those reports when asked about them following Victory's draw with the Mariners as he stressed his side could still turn their season around.
"I've just heard it for the first time there so I'd have to digest that and take it in to give you an answer because that's the first I've heard of it," Brebner said when asked about other coaches possibly being lined up for his job.
"There’s lots to be positive around. If you’re asking that question absolutely, I think we can still climb this table and make finals. If I didn’t think that, I wouldn’t be here.
"Tonight, while again I’m not getting carried away with coming and getting a point, but there’s certain aspects of tonight where the fight, the determination, the not wanting to lose a game of football was very evident - that’s something we can be pleased with."
Victory next face Sydney FC at home on April 4 before travelling to Newcastle Jets six days later in a battle of the league's current strugglers.
