After finishing bottom in the A-League last season, Melbourne Victory have had a productive off-season under new coach Tony Popovic.
The club have overhauled their squad bringing in a number of talented players like Chris Ikonomidis and Jason Davidson.
With the new campaign looming, Victory became the latest club to reveal their new playing kits over the weekend but this time failed to get fans excited.
Following such a promising pre-season, supporters felt their new shirts lacked creativity with new supplier Macron opting to play it safe with their first kit which will be worn in both the A-League and W-League.
This is shocking 😂…. Looks like they spent 5 mins on these and moved onto the next team

That’s great that you trolled us with the Wish version, now please show us the proper @MacronSports ones they will actually wear.

I had hopes that Macron would give us something that bit extra over the cookie cutter templates Adidas gave us for the last few.

I was very wrong.
4/10
Big missed opportunity here. Was really hoping to feel that moving away from adidas wouldn’t be a cheap downgrade but can’t help to feel that way

this is worse than expected

Sorry peeps, have had a great preseason with recruits on and off the field, but these shirts bland, sterile and have no affinity to the motto you preach in the club video. Can we start again?

Victory still have a third kit up their sleeve with some fans hoping they go a little bolder and return to the neon yellow colouring of a few seasons ago.
Though the club may have slipped up when it comes to what they'll be wearing this coming campaign, Victory look set for a much stronger season with veteran commentator Simon Hill recently backing them for a revival.
"My prediction for 2021-22 in the A-League is that Melbourne Victory are going to be an awful lot better," Hill said via 10Football.
"Let’s be honest, they have to be after the wooden spoon last year and Tony Popovic certainly won’t stand for that. So Victory will be on the rise."
The new A-League season is currently scheduled to kick off on October 30 but a delayed start due to closed state borders has been flagged as a possibility.
