The Matildas and New Zealand will do battle in the first of two friendles on Friday night in Queensland.
With the two nations hosting the 2023 Women's World Cup together, they have agreed to face off in a two-game series.
Australia haven't played competitively since January 30 when they were knocked out of the AFC Women's Asian Cup at the quarter-final stage by South Korea.
New Zealand, meanwhile, took part in the SheBelieves Cup in February where they lost two and drew one of their three games.

Despite winning all three of their group games, Australia stumbled in their first knockout match of the tournament and suffered a 1-0 loss against South Korea.
With the World Cup on the horizon, Tony Gustavsson's side will be hoping to iron out their issues quickly.
New Zealand were most recently in action at the SheBelieves Cup where they were beaten by Iceland and the United States before holding the Czech Republic to a 0-0 draw.
The Football Ferns currently sit 22nd in FIFA's world rankings and were ranked as high as 16th in 2013.
The Matildas, meanwhile, have dropped to 12th in the rankings having been fourth in 2017.
