Cortnee Vine injury: Matildas star ruled out of Chinese Taipei clash

On Tuesday, the Matildas announced Vine had suffered a hamstring injury in the team's recent match against the Philippines.

The 25-year-old has returned to her club, Sydney FC, to continue her recovery.

Vine played 90 minutes for Australia in their opening win over Iran on Thursday before coming off the bench on Sunday.

However, she only lasted 10 minutes before being withdrawn and was later seen icing her hamstring.

The winger will not travel with Sydney for their upcoming AFC Women’s Club Championship match in Uzbekistan.

Instead, the club have shared she will target a return against Adelaide United in mid-November.

Emily van Egmond, Ellie Carpenter depart Matildas camp

Van Egmond and Carpenter will also be unavailable for selection after departing camp to return to their respective clubs — San Diego Wave and Olympique Lyon.

With Olympic qualification almost guaranteed, agreements were reached between Football Australia and the two clubs, with both Van Egmond and Carpenter joining the national team camp earlier than normal.

The Matildas will not be permitted to register extra players for their final qualifier, per AFC regulations.

When do the Matildas play next?

The Matildas' next match will be against Chinese Taipei on Wednesday, November 1 at Perth Rectangular Stadium.

Kick-off is scheduled for 10:00 pm AEDT.

In their opening qualifying game, they scored a goal in each half to dispatch Iran before blitzing the Philippines 8-0 in their second match.
