Newcastle will be hoping Liverpool's goals for the opening month of the Premier League campaign came to an end on Saturday when Eddie Howe's side look to protect their unbeaten record in the new season at Anfield on Wednesday.

Liverpool tormented visitors Bournemouth with a 9-0 hammering of their newly-promoted opponents on Saturday, ending their unexpectedly long search for a first win in record-threatening style as part of a result that led to the departure of Cherries manager Scott Parker on Tuesday.

In-form Allan Saint-Maximin scored a superb last-minute volley to spare the Magpies a first defeat in seven matches and secure a 1-1 draw at Wolves last time out, keeping them a point and two places above Liverpool in seventh.

As the Reds aim for a second successive home win against tricky opponents, here's how to watch the action, team news and the latest betting odds.

Liverpool vs. Newcastle lineups

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has stuck with the team that thrashed Bournemouth 9-0 for the midweek visit of Newcastle

Harvey Elliott is fit to start after a fitness scare in the previous game, while Curtis Jones and Joel Matip return to take a place on the bench.

However, goalkeeper Caoimhin Kelleher, defenders Calvin Ramsay and Ibrahima Konate, midfielders Naby Keita and Thiago Alcantara and forward Diogo Jota remain out.

Liverpool lineup (4-3-3): Alisson (GK) – Robertson, Van-Dijk, Gomez, Alexander-Arnold – Henderson, Fabinho, Elliot – Diaz, Firmino, Salah.

Subs: Adrian, Davies, Milner, Jones, Tsimikas, Carvalho, Bajcetic, Matip, Phillips.

Club record signing Alexander Isak starts for Newcastle after receiving his work permit in time following his move from Spanish side Real Sociedad on Friday for a fee that could rise to £63m.

Defender Kieran Trippier also makes it despite having been an injury doubt but winger Saint-Maximin, midfielder Bruno Guimaraes and striker Callum Wilson are all out.

Newcastle predicted lineup (4-3-3): Pope (GK) – Trippier, Lascelles, Burn, Targett – Willock, Longstaff, Joelinton –  Almiron, Isak, Fraser.

Subs: Darlow, Botman, Schar, Ritchie, Lewis, Manquillo, Wood, Murphy, Anderson.

Liverpool vs. Newcastle betting odds

The hosts are heavy favourites to win, as a run of 26 matches unbeaten at Anfield against Newcastle - who are the team they have scored the most Premier League goals against, rattling in 109 so far - may justify.

They did, however, struggle against Crystal Palace in their first home game, rescuing a point through Luis Diaz with less than 30 minutes to go after Wilfried Zaha had struck in the first half.

Their opponents are certainly the value bet. Dark horses this season as their spending continues, Newcastle are unbeaten in five away games, winning twice during that run and taking a 3-1 lead at Manchester City on their last Premier League trip, eventually settling for a 3-3 draw.
