The big wet lashing much of the east coast of the country has seen three A-League matches postponed.
In a season already reeling from a host of a rescheduling issues due to COVID-19, the competitions can now count rain-soaked pitches as another reason obstacle to overcome.
A double-header involving the Western Sydney Wanderers and Wellington Phoenix women's and men's teams was set for CommBank Stadium in Parramatta on Sunday but the relentless rain around Sydney has seen it postponed.
"Due to the rising Parramatta River and increased level of the surrounding water table, CommBank Stadium’s surface has been unable to drain and is therefore unfit for play," a statement read.
"The ALeagues will continue to work closely with venue management to monitor the surface for the next 48 hours with the aim of rescheduling the games to later this week."
A third game, the A-League Women's clash between Brisbane Roar and Canberra United at Perry Park in Brisbane on Monday, has also been postponed due to a water-logged surface.
