After seven trophy-laden seasons with Paris Saint-Germain, Kylian Mbappe is off to pastures new.
The French supernova confirmed his impending departure from the club in a four-minute video posted Friday on X, the website formerly known as Twitter.
Mbappe, 25, confirmed earlier reports that he would allow his contract to expire at the end of the season. Following PSG's shock defeat to German side Borussia Dortmund in the UEFA Champions League semifinals, he formally revealed his intention to move on from the club and from Ligue 1 as a whole.
"I wanted to announce to you all that it's my last year at Paris Saint-Germain. I will not extend and the adventure will come to an end in a few weeks," Mbappe said. "I will play my last game at the Parc des Princes on Sunday."

A native of Bandy, Seine-Saint-Denis, a northeastern suburb of Paris, Mbappe joined the French superpowers in 2017 after a glistening start to his career with AS Monaco. Mbappe, who initially signed to the club on a loan deal, bagged 21 goals in all competitions in his maiden campaign in France's capital city. PSG then inked him to a permanent deal, reportedly shelling out a world-record €180 million fee to secure his services in 2018.

Over the course of his next six seasons, Mbappe set the French league ablaze. Despite playing on the wing, Mbappe finished as Ligue 1 top scorer in six of his seven years with PSG. He will take home that crown once more in 2023-24; he has 26, nine goals up on second-place Jonathan David (17) and Alexandre Lacazette (17) with just three games left in the season.
PSG never nabbed that all-important Champions League title — the closest it got was when it fell to Bayern Munich in the 2019-20 final. Nevertheless, Mbappe leaves the club as its all-time leading goal-scorer in the Champions League, having netted 42 in 64 appearances.
He's believed to be on the cusp of making a move to join Carlo Ancelotti's Real Madrid next season. But he hasn't confirmed his next home, and other clubs, including Arsenal and Liverpool, continued to be linked with the man billed to take Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo's throne as world football's greatest talent.

When is Kylian Mbappe's final game for PSG?
PSG has four games remaining on its 2023-24 calendar — three league games and the French Cup final vs. Lyon.
Just one of those games will happen at Parc des Princes, PSG's home: PSG faces off with mid-table Toulouse on Sunday, May 12. Mbappe already announced his intention to participate in Sunday's game, so expect some sort of ceremony honoring his accomplishments.
He could very well play in PSG's final two games of the league season. But with Mbappe already being PSG's all-time leading scorer and the league title safely in PSG's hands, that may not be necessary.
Even if Mbappe does not play in PSG's final two league games on May 19 and May 25, he could play in the the French Cup Final against Lyon on May 15. That would give Mbappe the opportunity to leave his hometown with a trophy — much-desired recognition across the European game.
