Socceroos coach Graham Arnold won't be using the testing conditions of Vietnam as an excuse when they face off in a World Cup qualifier on Tuesday night.
The green and gold started the final phase of qualifying with an emphatic 3-0 win over China last week in Qatar.
Australia arrived in a humid Hanoi over the weekend and looked to acclimatise on Sunday alongside some unexpected opponents.
"We trained on a training pitch last night that brought some great experience. There were frogs on the pitch. So that was great," Arnold said at a press conference on Monday.
"You're asking about the conditions, it is what it is. You can only use that as excuses. I expect us every time no matter what that we go out on the pitch and play our way. We will go out there tomorrow night and put a lot of pressure on Vietnam.
"They (the frogs) were great, they cheered the boys up. An experience the boys hadn't had before!"
After putting in a polished performance against China, Arnold is eager to see his side reach new heights against Vietnam.
Despite having a 27-man squad, the Socceroos' starting side won't be tampered with lightly, though Martin Boyle was given a 50/50 chance of playing after picking up a minor hamstring injury last time out.
"It's a World Cup qualifier, I've got to put my best team out there that I feel is ready to go out on the pitch and perform at its best," Arnold said.
"Also, yes, it was a comprehensive win against China, but I expect us to improve in every facet in the game tomorrow night.
"Most important thing is the boys are physically and mentally very, very good. I expect a great performance."
