Everton have beaten Western Sydney Wanderers 5-1 to end their tour of Australia on a high.

After a dour goalless encounter with Celtic on Sunday, the Toffees took a more attacking approach into this game and opened the scoring through Neal Maupay after just 14 minutes.

The Wanderers weren't going to roll over straight away though and equalised via a fine strike from Ramy Najjarine.

On the half-hour mark, Anthony Gordon scored a spectacular backhell effort to give the Toffees a half-time lead.

Gordon extended Everton's lead just after the break before academy product Thomas Cannon fired home from close range.

In the final minute, Gordon then sealed his hat-trick and a big win for the Toffees.

Everton vs. Western Sydney Wanderers team news

Everton are without four players due to the 2022 World Cup but have brought an otherwise full-strength squad to Australia. Yerry Mina and Abdoulaye Doucoure both picked up knocks against Celtic so are unlikely to feature in this one.

The Wanderers will have a near fully-fit squad for this game as coach Marko Rudan looks to test his players against top-class opposition.
