Cristiano Ronaldo and his Al Nassr team endured disappointment in 2023/24 as they failed to win the Saudi Pro League or AFC Champions League.
After Sadio Mane, Seko Fofana, Marcelo Brozovic, Aymeric Laporte and Alex Telles joined the squad for 2023/24, Al Nassr hoped they would have enough to take them over the top after finishing just short in every competition in 2022/23.
Al Nassr finished in second place in the 2022/23 Saudi Pro League and also fell in the semifinals of the King Cup and the Saudi Super Cup.
The 39-year-old Ronaldo captained his team to silverware, winning the Arab Club Champions Cup (also known as the King Salman Club Cup) with a 2-1 defeat of rivals Al Hilal. However, at home and abroad in the Saudi Pro League and AFC Champions League, things did not go to plan.
Now, he will look to lead the Riyadh team to glory in the 2024/25 season, especially given his time at Euro 2024 with Portugal did not go as intended.

When is Ronaldo's next Al Nassr match?
Al Nassr are next in action on Saturday, October 18. They face Al Shabab on Matchday 7 of the Saudi Pro League. It will come after the October international break when Ronaldo departs for Portugal duty.
Ronaldo missed the opening AFC Champions League match against Al Shorta due to illness, but returned to the Al Nassr starting lineup for the 3-0 win over Al Ettifaq. He scored in that game, and unveiled an unusual new celebration.
The Portugal icon scored again in the 2-0 win over Al Wehda on September 27 to showcase his return to fitness and form, and kept it going with a vital 76th minute goal against Al Rayyan in the AFC Champions League three days later.
