After losing 1-0 to Cameroon last time out, Brazil can't afford another stumble as they face South Korea in the 2022 FIFA World Cup Round of 16.

The South American giants opted to rest players against Cameroon with their qualification for the knockout stages already secured. That decision allowed the African side to snatch a dramatic late win but that didn't stop Brazil from finishing top of Group G.

There was even more late drama for South Korea as they scored an injury-time winner against Portugal which proved just enough to edge out Uruguay for second spot in Group H on goals scored in the group stages.

After also holding Uruguay to a 0-0 draw in their opening match, South Korea will have some hope of giving Brazil a stern test as the World Cup favourites are properly put under the microscope for the first time.

Brazil vs South Korea lineups

Beyond Jesus, Brazil were hit with more injury misery this week as Alex Telles was also ruled out of the remainder of the tournament.

Alex Sandro is still unavailable, too, though Neymar and Danilo are back in contention for this one, with the latter more likely to start given the desperate need for fit full-backs.

Brazil projected lineup (4-2-3-1, right to left): 1. Alisson (GK) — 14. Militao, 3. Thiago Silva, 4. Marquinhos, 2. Danilo — 8. Fred, 5. Casemiro — 11. Raphinha, 21. Rodrygo, 20. Vinicius Jr. — 9. Richarlison

Napoli defender Kim Min-jae missed the Portugal game after hurting his foot against Uruguay and remains a doubt for this match. Kwon Kyung-won took his spot against Portugal and didn't look out of place.

Wolves forward Hwang Hee-chan came on to score the winner in that match and may be pushing to start up top in favour of Cho Gue-sung.

South Korea used a 4-3-3 formation last time out but had previously favoured a 4-2-3-1 which should make a return to mimic Brazil's likely shape.

South Korea projected lineup (4-2-3-1, right to left): 1. S. Kim (GK) — 15. M.H. Kwon, 4. M. Kim, 19. Y. Kim, 3. J. Kim — 5. Jung, 6. Hwang I. — 11. Hwang H., 18. K.I Lee, 7. Son — 9. Cho

Brazil vs South Korea odds

Despite losing their last match, Brazil remain the 2022 World Cup favourites and should have too much fire power for South Korea.

The Koreans won't go down without a fight, however, and have already given one South American team a headache in the form of Uruguay.
