Bayern Munich take on Villarreal at the Allianz Arena on Tuesday, April 12 in the second leg of their UEFA Champions League quarterfinal series, with the visitors holding a 1-0 lead from last week's first leg.

Arnaut Danjuma's strike was enough to separate the teams last time out, leaving Julian Nagelsmann's side with it all to do to reach the last four of the competition.

Villarreal boss Unai Emery is no stranger to success on the continental stage and will be desperate to add another major European scalp to his collection as he plots Champions League glory with The Yellow Submarine.

This is a game that promises to be a fascinating watch for the neutral. Expect sparks to fly as Bayern seek to avoid being eliminated from the Champions League quarterfinal stage for the second year running.

Bayern Munich vs. Villarreal predicted lineups

Nagelsmann confirmed that Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting (knee), Niklas Sule (flu), Corentin Tolisso (muscle tear), and Bouna Sarr (patella) will all miss the match.

Leroy Sane may come into contention for a start as his side seek to break down the Villarreal rearguard.

Bayern Munich predicted lineup (4-2-3-1): Neuer (GK) — Pavard, Upamecano, Hernandez, Davies — Kimmich, Goretzka — Coman, Muller, Sane — Lewandowski.

For their La Liga match on Saturday, Villarreal fielded an entirely different starting XI from the team that beat Bayern 1-0, only bringing on five of the players for a run out in the 1-1 draw against Athletic Bilbao.

That group of subs included the three attackers likely to be used against Bayern, including goal scorer Arnaut Danjuma, who all got a 30-minute cameo in preparation for the match in Munich.

Villarreal predicted lineup (4-4-2): Rulli (GK) — Foyth, Albiol, Torres, Estupinan — Lo Celso, Capoue, Parejo, Coquelin — Danjuma, Moreno.

Goals may be hard to come by in this match, with Villarreal heading to Germany to defend a lead. There is the possibility for the game to go to extra time, and possibly even penalties, if Bayern win by just one goal.

Robert Lewandowski is famed for his performances on these big occasions, and you wouldn't be surprised if he was to pull something spectacular out of the bag once again.
