Spanish football giants Barcelona are set to play their first ever match in Australia on May 25. 

Just days after their La Liga season concludes, Xavi's side will head Down Under to take on the A-Leagues All Stars - a team comprising of the best players from the domestic competition

Barcelona have endured a difficult 2021-22 season that will end without silverware and they won't want to slip up again in Australia. 

When is the Barcelona vs. A-Leagues All Stars match?

Barcelona will take on the A-Leagues All Stars at 8.05pm (local time) on May 25.

For Spanish fans, that means the game will begin at 12.05pm (CEST) the same day.

In the United Kingdom, the action begins an hour earlier at 11.05am (BST), while for those watching from the United States or Canada kick off will be at 6.05am (ET).  

Both teams will also held an open training session the night before the match.

Where is the Barcelona vs. A-Leagues All Stars game being played?

Barcelona's first trip to Australia will see them based in Sydney with their friendly game played at Accor Stadium. 

Otherwise known as Stadium Australia, the venue has a current capacity of 83,500 fans and was opened in 1999 ahead of the 2000 Olympic Games. 

Both previous A-Leagues All Stars matches took place at the stadium with 83,127 fans turning out to watch Manchester United claim a 5-1 win in 2013. 

Event promoters TEG Sport will be hopeful of attracting another big crowd on May 25. 

How to watch Barcelona vs. A-Leagues All Stars

Viewers in Australia will be able to watch this match live and free on television via 10 Bold from 7.30pm (AEST). The game will also be streamed via 10 Play and Paramount+.  

For fans tuning in from elsewhere around the world, the friendly is expected to be shown on BarcaTV+ which offers yearly subscriptions from €29.99. 

Barcelona team news: Which players have come to Australia?

Barcelona have taken a 20-man squad to Australia for the A-Leagues All Stars match. 

Gerard Pique, Pedri, Sergio Roberto, Eric Garcia and Sergino Dest are all currently sidelined with injuries and were left behind. 

Riqui Puig and Oscar Mingueza also miss the trip Down Under after being named in the Catalan national team squad set to play Jamaica on the same day as the A-Leagues All Stars match. 

Ferran Torres didn't make the trip to Australia either due a lack of COVID-19 vaccinations, while Martin Braithwaite has international duties with Denmark. Neto and Clement Lenglet also missed out due to family reasons.

A-Leagues All Stars team news

The A-Leagues All Stars will be coached by former Premier League forward Dwight Yorke and consist of 30 players from the A-League Men. 

The squad was made up of 13 players selected by fans, 15 by Yorke and two by A-Leagues Commissioner Greg O'Rourke. 

This friendly will be played just days before the A-League Men grand final meaning players from those two sides will be unable to compete.

Tickets for the match are available via Ticketek but availability is quickly running out.

The cheapest adult ticket can be bought for $49, while seats in the Barcelona active support section are also still up for grabs with prices starting from $79.
