Awer Mabil has scored his first goal for Esbjerg - a cracking goal against his parent club FC Midtjylland - while Scott Jamieson helped his club to an important win in Sweden.

Mabil opened the scoring for Esbjerg with a sublime free-kick midway through the first half on Monday night but ended the match on the wrong end of a 3-1 scoreline.

The former Adelaide United winger's strike may have taken a slight touch off the wall but had plenty of power and swerve to sneak in just inside the far post.

In just his second start for Esbjerg, Mabil scored his first goal in the Danish Superliga since joining Midtjylland before the 2015-16 season.

Meanwhile in the Swedish Allsvenskan, former Western Sydney Wanderers full-back Scott Jamieson played a full 90 minutes as his IFK Goteborg defeated archrivals AIK 1-0.

The winner for the hosts came on 26 minutes as Emil Salomonsson's cross from the right was turned home by Elias Omarsson.

The result keeps IFK Goteborg in fourth spot in the table and increased their unbeaten run at home to 27 straight matches in the league, dating back to April 2015.
