It can take years for a player to earn a club chant. For Cameron Devlin, it took less than 90 minutes.

The 23-year-old Australian stole the show on his home debut for new Scottish side Hearts and quickly won over fans as the club claimed a 3-0 win over Livingston in the Premiership.

Devlin, who was most recently playing in the A-League for Wellington Phoenix, played the full 90 minutes on Sunday morning (AEST) and barely put a foot wrong.

The Olyroo completed a game-high six tackles, while his 72 successful passes were the third most of any player on the pitch.

Devlin's performance saw fans begin taunting Livingston players with a chant along the lines of, "You're just a sh*t Cammy Devlin", heard inside Tynecastle Park.

Hearts manager Robbie Neilson also liked what he saw from Devlin as he welcomed the attributes he's brought to his side.

“When I came in at the start of last season, we had the oldest squad in the Championship and the plan was to get the squad a lot younger and more energetic, more mobile," Neilson said post-match.

"Cammy’s another piece in the jigsaw – he’s 23, he’s got energy, pace, mobility and he can deal with the ball."

The young Aussie was further praised on social media with both the club and Hearts fans in awe of his performance.

Their win over Livingston has seen Hearts rise to second in the Scottish Premiership with the club next in action at home against Motherwell on October 3.
