Trent Sainsbury and Craig Goodwin got on the scoresheet for their clubs, while two other Socceroos continued to shine in the Championship.

Sainsbury scored the opener in Jiangsu Suning's 2-1 win at Changchun Yatai in the Chinese Super League (CSL) on Sunday, while Craig Goodwin in the Eredivisie on Saturday.

Goodwin got through 85 minutes in his first competitive start for Sparta Rotterdam and announced himself to the fans by getting on the scoresheet.

 

 

The former Adelaide United winger scored Sparta's second goal just before the hour mark as they went on to win 3-0 at PEC Zwolle.

Goodwin lined up on the left wing in a 4-3-3 formation, while fellow Aussie Kenneth Dougall came on for the last 13 minutes for Sparta.

Australian goalkeeper Brad Jones continued his perfect start to life at Feyenoord, notching a second consecutive cleansheet in a 2-0 win over FC Twente.

Feyenoord haven't conceded in the opening two weeks of the Eredivisie campaign and moved to the top of the table on Sunday ahead of three other clubs on goal difference.

In the CSL, Sainsbury got on the end of Ji Xiang's flicked header from Alex Teixeira's 28th-minute corner to score at the back post, setting up Jiangsu's win.Jiangsu sit second in China's top flight - eight points behind leaders Guangzhou Evergrande.

In England's Championship, Aaron Mooy and Massimo Luongo continued their strong starts to the 2016-17 campaign.

 

 

Mooy was again a standout as Huddersfield Town won 2-1 at Newcastle United on Saturday, while Luongo played from start to finish in Queens Park Rangers' 2-0 victory away to Cardiff City on Sunday.

QPR lead the Championship on goal difference after two rounds, with Huddersfield one of three other clubs also on six points.

UK

In the Premier League, Mile Jedinak played a full game for Crystal Palace but they opened the season with a 1-0 home defeat against West Bromwich Albion.

In the Championship, Jackson Irvine got through 90 minutes as Burton Albion lost 2-1 against Bristol City, while there was a defeat by the same score for Bailey Wright, with Preston North End losing to Fulham.

There were also full games for James Meredith in League One as Bradford beat Peterborough 1-0, while Cameron Burgess' Oldham Athletic drew 0-0 with Walsall.

And in League Two, Alex Cisak was in goal for Leyton Orient but they lost 1-0 at home against Newport County.

In Scotland, Scott McDonald's Motherwell lost 2-1 at home to St Johnstone, with the striker playing a full match.

EUROPE

In Austria, James Jeggo notched another 90 minutes as Sturm Graz defeated Austria Vienna 3-1.

Milos Degenek also completed a full shift as 1860 Munich won 1-0 over Arminia Bielefeld in Germany's 2. Bundesliga.

On Saturday, Tomi Juric notched another win as FC Luzern beat FC Naters 4-1 in the Swiss Cup, while

David Williams was on the scoresheet for Haladas in Hungary as they won 3-1 against Diosgyori VTK.

ASIA

No other Australians tasted victory in the CSL on Sunday.

Dario Vidosic and Michael Thwaite played full games in Liaoning Whowin's scoreless draw at Hebei CFFC, while Apo Giannou was subbed off in the 67th minute as Guangzhou R&F lost 2-1 to Shandong Luneng.

On Saturday, Matthew Spiranovic claimed bragging rights over fellow Socceroos defender Ryan McGowan as Hangzhou Greentown defeated Henan Jianye 3-0, while Alex Jovanovic played a full game in Tianjin Teda's 2-2 draw with Shijiazhuang Ever Bright.

In the K League, Adrian Leijer played 90 minutes and Bruce Djite was withdrawn with a half-hour remaining as Suwon FC lost 2-1 to Ulsan.

Mark Bridge also suffered defeat in the Thai League as Nakhon Ratchasima won 2-1 at Chiang Rai United, while Goran Subara's Chiangmai FC thumped Port FC 5-1 in Thailand's second tier.

On Saturday, Matt Smith's Bangkok Glass drew 3-3 with Sisaket in the top tier.

NORTH AMERICA

Australian defender Harrison Delbridge made his 19th start of the USL Pro season as his FC Cincinnati claimed a 1-1 draw at Richmond Kickers.
