Both Caltex Socceroos played 90 minutes with Wright helping Preston keep Irvine quiet as the visitors won 1-0 thanks to a goal from Tom Clarke.
While Irvine and Burton remain perilously close to the relegation zone, Preston’s win means they are 11th and in striking distance of the playoff places.
