In the Premier League, Mile Jedinak equalised from the penalty spot to earn a point for Crystal Palace in a 1-1 draw away to Swansea City. Midfielder Jedinak laid a bat on the field before kick-off at the Liberty Stadium in honour of fallen cricketer Phillip Hughes.

Goalkeeper Brad Jones was an unused substitute for Liverpool in a 1-0 home win over Stoke City.

In the Championship, Scott McDonald played the full 90 minutes for Millwall in a 2-2 draw away to AFC Bournemouth.
