Arsenal and Liverpool will reconvene for the Third Round of the FA Cup on January 7.

The sides met in the Premier League at Anfield on December 23 and played out a tense 1-1 draw, which ensured the Gunners were top of the table on Christmas Day.

Mikel Arteta's side have since lost back-to-back London derbies against West Ham and Fulham, falling to fourth in the Premier League.

Jurgen Klopp's men occupy top spot in what promises to be a closely contested race over the second half of the season.

As such, managers will enjoy the opportunities to break free of the pressures of the top flight, while mindful of the chance to score some psychological points and rest some tired legs at Emirates Stadium.

The Sporting News details the latest on team news and predicted lineups for this game.

Mikel Arteta's injury list has not changed at the start of 2024 and the Spanish coach will also be without Mohamed Elneny and Takehiro Tomiyasu due to AFCON and AFC Asian Cup call-ups.

Aaron Ramsdale could be given a chance to impress with Arteta open to rotating his goalkeepers in cup games. Emile Smith Rowe has only started twice in all competitions this season and could be in line for a runout, along with right-back Cedric Soares.

Oleksandr Zinchenko will face a late fitness test, but Thomas ParteyFabio Vieira, and Jurrien Timber are out.

Arsenal (4-3-3, right to left): Ramsdale (GK) — Soares, Kiwior, Gabriel, Zinchenko — Smith Rowe, Jorginho, Nelson — Jesus, Nketiah, Trossard.

Jurgen Klopp could also make a change in goal, with Caoimhin Kelleher likely to rotate in for Alisson, alongside other changes for the visitors.

Dominik Szoboszlai is set to miss at least Liverpool's next two matches after sustaining a thigh injury in the thrilling 4-2 Premier League win over Newcastle United on January 1 with Alexis Mac Allister potentially starting in his place after returning from a knee injury as a substitute against the Magpies.

Wataru Endo and Mohamed Salah will miss the match after linking up with their national teams this month.

Liverpool (4-3-3 right to left): Kelleher (GK) — Alexander-Arnold, Konate, Quansah, Gomez — Mac Allister, Jones, Gravenberch — Jones, Gakpo, Jota.
