However, the arrival of Arteta has changed the direction back in Arsenal's favour, despite the Basque coach losing his first home game in charge to the Blues in December 2019.
Since then, Arsenal have lost just once to Chelsea in all competitions, including the 2019 FA Cup final and three consecutive Premier League victories at the Bridge before a 2-2 draw in October 2023.

However, Chelsea were able to gain some revenge by knocking Arsenal out at the semifinal stage in 2009, but Arsenal finished on top again in 2017 and 2020.
Aaron Ramsey's late goal clinched Wenger's final trophy as Arsenal boss in 2017, before Arteta lifted his first title as Arsenal head coach, in 2020, against Frank Lampard.

The two sides have only met three times in European action, with Chelsea emerging victorious in both UEFA Champions League and Europa League match ups.
