On the back of putting Melbourne Victory to the sword in a 3-1 win on Australia Day, Sydney FC coach Graham Arnold has declared his current frontline the best in A-League history.

With 42 goals to their name from 18 games this season, the Sky Blues have more than doubled the goal tally of five other teams in the competition.

Brazilian striker Bobo has led the Sydney FC attack and netted his 17th and 18th goal this season against Victory on Friday as he raced four clear in the golden boot standings with his nearest rival, Ross McCormack, set to depart Melbourne City.

Arnold's preferred frontline this season has also seen Polish import Adrian Mierzejewski and reigning Johnny Warren medalist Milos Ninkovic pull the strings with captain Alex Brosque chipping in where he can too.

With the premier's plate seemingly the Sky Blues for the taking as they sit nine points clear at the top of the table, Arnold heaped some very big praise upon his team.

"When we play to structure and we focus more on the football rather than the battle or the fight and we get some fluency, we're such a special team," Arnold said post-match.

"The front four is probably the greatest frontline in A-League history.

"We know we can score goals and damage teams with our quality."

Melbourne City currently hold the record for most goals in a season with their return of 63 across the 2015/16 season surely in the Sky Blues sights as they look to validate Arnold's claims.

Bobo is also squaring in on the most goals scored by a player in an A-League season, with the 33-year-old only five shy of Bruno Fornaroli's current record haul of 23 in a single season.

The Brazilian became the highest goal scorer for Sydney FC in a season, overtaking Marc Janko's previous 16-goal record with his pair of strikes in the Big Blue.
