Argentina have the first chance to hint at why they are being tipped by many to win the 2022 FIFA World Cup when Lionel Scaloni's side look to extend their 36-match winning run in their Group C opener against Saudi Arabia.

In a group also containing Poland and Mexico, the underdogs are targeting an upset comparable to their sole round of 16 appearance at the finals, when they beat Belgium and Morocco on their way to the knockout stage in 1994.

Albiceleste's captain Lionel Messi, inevitably, will draw much of the attention as the seven-time Ballon d'Or winner bids to win the World Cup for the first time, having lifted a major trophy with his country for the first time at the 2021 Copa America.

Here's how you can watch all the action in the major global territories.

Argentina vs. Saudi Arabia lineups

Forwards Nicolas Gonzalez (thigh) and Joaquin Correa (muscular) have both been replaced in the Argentina squad because of injury.

Angel Correa and Thiago Almada have replaced the duo, while attacker Alejandro Papu Gomez and Marcos Acuna have also been assessed with minor issues.

Defender Cristian Romero (muscular) did not play in his nation's friendly against the United Arab Emirates on Wednesday but is thought to be ready to start.

Manchester United centre-back Lisandro Martinez is likely to accompany Nicolas Otamendi if Romero is not ready, while Nicolas Tagliafico is the main contender to deputise for Acuna at left-back

Argentina (4-3-3, right to left): 23. E. Martinez (GK) – 26. Molina, 13. Romero, 19. Otamendi, 8. Acuna – 7. De Paul, 5. Paredes, 20. Mac Allister – 10. Messi, 11. Di Maria, 22. Martinez

Saudi Arabia's Saleh Al-Shehri returned from an Achilles tear in October. The centre-forward for Saudi Pro League team Al-Hilal should be fully fit for the game.

Winger Fahad al-Muwallad will not be involved, having been dropped from the squad as a 'precaution' due to failing a doping test back in February.

Saudi Arabia (4-5-1, right to left): 21. Al Owais (GK) – 2. Al Ghannam, 3. Madu, 4. Al Amri, 13. Al Shahrani – 7. Al Faraj, 23. Kanno, 14. Otayf, 19. Bahebri, 10. Al Dawsari – 9. Al Buraikan

Argentina vs. Saudi Arabia odds

Argentina are, understandably, heavy favourites in this match as one of the top teams in the field and the second-favourites to win the entire tournament.

Still, that doesn't quite sell exactly how lopsided the odds are, with bookmakers around the world expecting this match to be heavily one-sided. The over goals market is favoured, with many backing Argentina to run up the tally, while both teams to score is massively skewed towards "no" as people are also backing Argentina to keep a clean sheet.
