"Mooy was ever present for Huddersfield Town in December and was instrumental in helping the club win four of its six matches over the busy Christmas period," a statement on Huddersfield’s official website said.
After Town endured a lean run of results in November, Mooy helped the club bounce back to form and played every minute of every game in December as they registered four wins and two draws.
The 26-year-old beat out the club’s top scorer Elias Kachunga and defender Tommy Smith to be December’s best.
Mooy’s form is a positive sign for the Caltex Socceroos ahead of two crucial FIFA World Cup qualifiers coming up in March.
