A-League crowds: Every club's attendance figures for the 2020-21 season image

It was one of the best A-League seasons in some years but the 2020-21 campaign struggled to get crowds across the board with only two clubs seeing an increase in attendance.

While COVID-19's impact is important to note, those rises and falls in fan attendance is compared to the 2019-20 campaign which also saw the pandemic impact crowd numbers.

Melbourne clubs have particularly struggled this season with Victoria having to contend with multiple lockdowns throughout the season.

A-League newcomers Macarthur FC suffered a slow start with crowd numbers and boasted the second-lowest average attendance - only beaten by Western United, whose second season in the competition saw them go backwards on and off the pitch.

Surprisingly, Western Sydney Wanderers attracted the most fans across the regular season, despite the team's ongoing struggles as they once again failed to make the top six.

Wellington Phoenix also deserve special credit considering they played all but two of their games in Australia and managed to attract a season-high crowd when they did manage to host matches back home.

Adelaide United and Central Coast Mariners were the only clubs that managed to bring in more fans this season compared to the previous campaign.
