Zouma: Chelsea players still behind Mourinho image

Chelsea defender Kurt Zouma has dismissed suggestions manager Jose Mourinho no longer has the backing of his players as their dismal run of form continues.

Stoke City inflicted a seventh leage defeat of the season upon the Blues on Saturday, leaving the reigning champions sitting in 16th place with just 11 points after 12 games.

Goal understands Mourinho's tenure is close to its end as a revolt is growing in the dressing room, with some suggesting that there is no way back for the coach.

However, Zouma is adamant the players are still behind their manager, though he does not know the reason behind their catastrophic start to the season.

"I do not think that he is being let down by the players," Zouma told Telefoot .

"We might not be at last year's level when it comes to our performances, but we are all together as a team. We all trust in Mourinho, just like the fans.

"I cannot explain our catastrophic start. It really is bizarre," the Frenchman added.

"We were Premier League champions last season... maybe it is a mental problem."
