Patrick Reed finally broke out of his season-long slump to take the lead after the third round at the Wells Fargo Championship.

It appeared Reed was headed for a huge season after leading the United States to an emphatic Ryder Cup win last year but he has struggled to show the same promising form, while also dropping seven spots in the world rankings during that time.
However, Reed shot a five-under-par 67 in tough conditions for a one-stroke lead in Wilmington, North Carolina on Saturday (US time).
The five-time PGA Tour champion birdied his last two holes to finish with six birdies and just one bogey to get to eight under.

Reed, who has not finished in the top 10 in an event since the Tournament of Champions in January, is looking for his first win since The Barclays last August.
Spanish rookie Jon Rahm reclaimed his familiar spot near the top of the leaderboard with a three-under 69 as he moved seven under through 54 holes.
He is tied for second with Alex Noren (69), who won three times on the European Tour last year.

Francesco Molinari, who grabbed sole possession of the lead early on Saturday to finish up the delayed second round, shot even par in round three to headline a group tied for fourth at six under.
Molinari is level alongside Noh Seung-yul (67), Brian Harman (70) and Vaughn Taylor (70).
Phil Mickelson and world number one Dustin Johnson shot their way back into contention on Saturday.
Mickelson posted a third-round 69 to get to four under for the tournament, while Johnson carded a five-under-par 67 to sit level with his fellow American.
