In a see-sawing encounter at Simonds Stadium, 2016 Brownlow medalist Patrick Dangerfield stepped up when it counted as his Geelong side edged the Bulldogs 104-81.

Dangerfield kicked four goals, assisted another and made 36 disposals in a pivotal performance which saw him kick a milestone goal.
Despite a third quarter slump which saw them concede six goals in a row, Geelong with the aid of Dangerfield and captain Joel Selwood were able to see off the Dogs and snap a three game losing streak as they moved up to third on the ladder.
