The 22-year-old who started racing professionally at the age of 16, went off track at the France circuit before his front wheel slide into the wall with disastrous consequences.

Despite the crash which left his bike totaled, Miller was somehow able to walk away relatively unscathed and had the nerve to compete in Q2 on a replacement bike and eventually secure 11th spot on the grid.

Hailing from Queensland, Miller is the first Australian since Casey Stoner to win a MotoGP event after he came from 19th during a race in Assen last year to claim his maiden victory.
