During their multi-city world tour last month, Floyd Mayweather and Conor McGregor never got to the point of a face-to-face confrontation. Now, with the mega-fight just four days away, things are getting testy and tempers are being tested.
The grand arrivals took place on Tuesday afternoon at the Toshiba Plaza, just outside the T-Mobile Arena where Saturday's fight will take place. Mayweather came out first, spoke to the fans for a couple of minutes and finished by speaking to the media.
As Mayweather was leaving, McGregor was seen entering the area, where the two crossed paths.
The boxing legend was walking towards the parking lot when he saw McGregor. As he was walking down the stairs he told the Irishman, "The Money Team is leaving. You scared of a face-off today? You scared of a face-off?'"
McGregor and Mayweather continued towards each other and were separated instantly by a bevy of security guards and each fighter's respective bodyguards.
"We were supposed to have a face-off and then it was nothing," McGregor said about the situation to MMA Fighting during a media scrum. "I seen him and I said, 'Are you afraid of a face-off?' Then we came forward and there was a little pushing and shoving and that's it."
And just think, Mayweather and McGregor have to face-off two times before they finally meet in the ring, at Wednesday's press conference and Friday's weigh-in.
