Three years ago, Matt Eisenhuth was diagnosed with cancer after a niggling leg injury resulted in doctors finding a tumour in his left leg.

On Saturday, the 24-year-old is set to mark a remarkable recovery by making his debut for the Tigers against the Sharks.

A cousin of Cronulla skipper Paul Gallen, Eisenhuth's rugby league revival is all the more impressive considering he's also undergone multiple shoulder reconstructions during stints with Parramatta and Penrith.

After a consistent season with Wests Tigers NSW Cup side in 2016, the forward secured his first full-time contract with the club in 2017 and put pen to paper on a one-year deal.

Eisenhuth is expected to come on off the bench against the Sharks on Saturday and you'll want to keep your eye out for the NRL's newest and argubaly most persistent player.
