Brisbane Broncos vs South Sydney: Anthony Milford's questionable try assist goes unnoticed image

Souths Sydney spurned a chance to put some pressure on the Roosters for the minor premiership when they went down 36-18 to Brisbane at Suncorp Stadium on Thursday night.

In true rugby league fashion, their fans were left filthy with a few decisions that they felt went the home side's way.

Korbin Sims made it a three try to nothing game in the first half when he crossed after some slick work from Anthony Milford, but the pass that put the big man over looked questionable and the Rabbitohs faithful were quick to blow up.

It wasn't the only incident in the half that had the visitors fuming, with Sims going unpunished after appearing to run Adam Reynolds off the ball.

Brisbane eventually took an 18-8 lead into the break.

While the Bunnies came roaring back into contention, levelling the score at 18-18, the Broncos ran out eventual winners 38-18, with a vital 10 points being added to their points differential and an extra two competition points giving Wayne Bennett's men some breathing room, with 9th placed Wests Tigers stilll in the hunt for finals footballl.

It was a big night for the wingers with the Broncos' Corey Oates and Souths' Richie Kennar both crossing the stripe multiple and being caught out with defensive deficiencies.

A 64th minute barnstorming try from David Fifita also further unscored what a precocious talent the Broncos have on their hands.
