In what was the fifth biggest comeback in AFL history, the Saints kicked 12 goals to three in the second half to win 14.10 (94) to 13.9 (87).

David Armitage was best afield with 45 disposals  with young gun Jack Billings kicking four goals - including three majors in the final term.

The Dogs were best served by young forward Jake Stringer (four goals) while Liam Picken grabbed 28 disposals.

Luckless Bulldogs youngster Clay Smith suffered his third serious knee injury in less than two years on the stroke on half-time.
