After missing most of 2014 due to injury, two-time Australian Open champion Victoria Azarenka believes she is progressing well after sealing her passage into the third round on Thursday.
A foot problem plagued Azarenka last year, which saw the Belarusian drop from second in the world to 44th as of January 2015.
But the aggressive 25-year-old - unseeded at Melbourne Park - is on the comeback trail and that continued on Margaret Court Arena as she ousted eighth seed Caroline Wozniacki 6-4 6-2 in less than two hours.
"I think it was a very good match, very high quality," Azarenka told reporters.
"I'm happy with the way I stayed consistent throughout the whole match.
"I think there's always things you can improve, but it's a great progress from one match to another.
"I just want to keep trying to stay in that path and continue to grow, continue to improve."
Azarenka has been forced to do it the hard way during the early rounds, drawn against talented American Sloane Stephens and dual US Open finalist Wozniacki.
Whether that bodes well for Azarenka remains to be seen, with Barbora Zahlavova Strycova standing in the way of her and a fourth-round berth.
"I don't know what's going to happen in the future. I just want to be able to control what I can," Azarenka added.
"It's my preparation towards the next match. That's really what I'm going to do and not think about what's going to happen. Just really be very well prepared."
