Quarterback remains the deepest position in fantasy football. There's no contest. Now that we're into the fantasy playoffs, QB play will become even more important. One dud can spell your demise, so this is not the time to pick a bust at QB. Thankfully, there is still plenty of depth, and our Week 14 fantasy QB rankings are roughly 20-deep once again. That will make for some tougher start 'em, sit 'em decisions, but generally speaking, you can't go wrong with many options.
The options at the top aren't changing much at this point in the offseason, though as we saw last week, even top guys like Andrew Luck and Drew Brees can flop. If your normal starter is facing a tough matchup, like Russell Wilson (vs. Vikings) or Carson Wentz (@ Cowboys) is this week, it may be good to target a streamer. Unless we're talking about Patrick Mahomes II, nobody should be considered "untouchable".
Week 14 Rankings:
Running Back | Wide Receiver | Tight End | D/ST | Kicker
Jameis Winston (vs. Saints) has been playing well as of late, and the Bucs hung 48 points on the Saints last time they squared off (though Ryan Fitzpatrick was the starter in that game). So, if he's available, he might be a good option. Other intriguing plays include Baker Mayfield (vs. Panthers) and Lamar Jackson (@ Chiefs).
One player to keep an eye on this week is Cam Newton. While Newton has a good matchup against the Browns, he threw four picks against a hapless Bucs defense last week, and it's possible that he is dealing with a shoulder injury that has sapped him of some of his arm strength. If he's limited in practice, that will make him a bit more risky than normal, so just keep that in mind when considering him as a starter this week.
Note: We'll adjust these rankings throughout week, so check back often for the latest player movement updates and player analysis.
WEEK 14 PPR RANKINGS: Running back | Wide receiver | Tight end
Week 14 Fantasy Football Rankings: QBs
These rankings are for standard leagues with 6-point passing TDs.
1 | Drew Brees, Saints @ Buccaneers |
2 | Philip Rivers, Chargers vs. Bengals. Rivers still has at least two TDs in every game so far this season, and he is on a mini hot streak as of late, completing 83 percent of his passes for 558 yards and five scores in the past two weeks. The Bengals have given up the most fantasy points to QBs this year, so Rivers should have a chance to continue at a solid clip in the favorable matchup. |
3 | Patrick Mahomes II, Chiefs vs. Ravens |
4 | Ben Roethlisberger, Steelers @ Raiders. We all know the cautionary tale of trusting Ben Roethlisberger on the road, but the matchup is too good here not to view him as a top-five play. The Raiders have allowed at least 19 fantasy points to starting QBs in every week since their Week 7 bye, and they have allowed QBs to account for 17 total TDs in the past six games. Roethlisberger should have a shot at three scores, so that makes him an appealing start this week. |
5 | Aaron Rodgers, Packers vs. Falcons |
WEEK 14 DFS CASH LINEUPS: Yahoo | DraftKings | FanDuel
6 | Andrew Luck, Colts @ Texans |
7 | Cam Newton, Panthers @ Browns. Newton is coming off his worst outing of the year, as he had four interceptions against the Buccaneers. It also appears that he may be experiencing some issues with his throwing shoulder, as Taylor Heinicke came in to throw a Hail Mary at the end of the game. Still, Newton has logged multiple TDs in all but one game so far this year, and that came in Week 1. The Browns had allowed at least 20 fantasy points to QBs in every game since Week 7 before faring marginally better against Deshaun Watson last week (17.96 points allowed). Newton will be a threat to break the 20-point barrier -- provided that his shoulder is deemed healthy. |
8 | Tom Brady, Patriots @ Dolphins. Brady only logged a single TD last week against the Vikings, and that was the fourth time in the past five games that he had logged one or fewer TDs. That said, save for an awful outing by Sam Darnold, the Dolphins have allowed at least 21.58 fantasy points to QBs in every week since Week 6. And when Brady faced the Dolphins earlier in the year, he logged just under 25 fantasy points. He should bounce back with a solid outing, even on the road in Miami. |
9 | Deshaun Watson, Texans vs. Colts. Last time Watson squared off against the Colts, he put up 35.1 fantasy points and had an excellent performance on the ground (41 yards, one score). The Colts have been merely decent against QBs this year, and they may struggle to keep pace with Watson in this one. |
10 | Russell Wilson, Seahawks vs. Vikings. Wilson is one of the more interesting quarterbacks in fantasy, as his offense throws the ball less than any other team. In spite of that, Wilson has logged multiple TDs in all but one game this seaso,n and last week against the 49ers, he threw four TD passes on 17 attempts. Unfortunately, Wilson will run into a Minnesota defense that has only allowed multiple passing TDs to two QBs this season. The last time that happened was in Week 5, so Wilson's upside is capped a bit this week because of the Vikings defense and his lack of opportunities as a passer. |
WEEK 14 DFS GPP LINEUPS: Yahoo | DraftKings | FanDuel
11 | Jared Goff, Rams @ Bears. The Bears will be a tough opponent for the Rams, as they have an elite defense that has limited opposing passers and RBs very well this season. Goff is the type of player that can go off one week and then completely disappear the next. Considering that the Bears have only allowed one QB to have more than 20 fantasy points since Week 8, this may be a tougher week to count on Goff producing at a high level. He still falls into QB1 territory because of how good the Rams offense is, but he is definitely a risk. |
12 | Kirk Cousins, Vikings @ Seahawks. The Seahawks have quietly allowed quarterbacks to post at least 21 fantasy points on them in six-straight weeks. Every passer in this span has two TD passes. Cousins has more upside than some may anticipate because of this, so feel free to fire him up as a low-end QB1, though playing on the road in Seattle is no easy task (especially in prime time). |
13 | Jameis Winston, Buccaneers vs. Saints. Winston has played well in consecutive weeks and has avoided making mistakes against the 49ers and Panthers. While the Saints defense has improved in recent weeks, they did allow Ryan Fitzpatrick to drop 50-plus fantasy points on them in Week 1. Winston is unlikely to go off in that fashion, but he could have a chance to produce at a high level in what could be a high-scoring battle. |
14 | Carson Wentz, Eagles @ Cowboys. The Cowboys have been playing very well lately, and prior to the Eagles-Redskins Monday night battle, Wentz had posted just 392 passing yards, one TD, and three picks in the past two games. For that reason, it's a bit hard to recommend him against a Dallas defense that just limited Drew Brees to 9.28 fantasy points. |
15 | Matt Ryan, Falcons @ Packers. Ryan typically struggles on the road, and he only has nine TDs passes in five road games so far this season. The Packers are coming off a crushing defeat against the Cardinals at home and they will be looking for revenge. In a cold-weather game against the angry Packers defense, Ryan isn't a highly recommended play, as he has a low floor. |
MORE WEEK 14 DFS: Stacks | Values | Lineup Builder
16 | Baker Mayfield, Browns vs. Panthers. Mayfield came back down to earth last week after a torrid two-game stretch that saw him throw seven TDs. Mayfield is definitely more comfortable in Freddie Kitchens' offense than he was in Hue Jackson's/Todd Haley's, and the Panthers have allowed 25-plus fantasy points to QBs in four of the past five weeks. Mayfield will have a chance to succeed against the reeling Panthers, especially after the changes that the Panthers made to their defensive staff. |
17 | Lamar Jackson, Ravens @ Chiefs. Joe Flacco's potential return shouldn't muddle the Ravens QB room, as Jackson has won the three starts he has made in recent weeks. The Chiefs just allowed Derek Carr to drop 30 fantasy points, and Jackson's rushing ability gives him streaming potential. Of course, there are still options out there that have more passing upside than him. |
18 | Mitchell Trubisky, Bears vs. Rams. Trubisky is likely to return from a shoulder injury that has sidelined him the past couple of weeks, but it's going to be hard to trust him in a tough matchup against the Rams. The Rams haven't been great against upper-level quarterbacks, but they should be able to contain Trubisky with their improved unit that just regained Aqib Talib last week. |
19 | Marcus Mariota, Titans vs. Jaguars |
20 | Matthew Stafford, Lions @ Cardinals |
21 | Case Keenum, Broncos @ 49ers. Keenum qualifies as a potential streamer against a 49ers defense that has given up 20-plus fantasy points to QBs in six of the past seven games. That said, Keenum has only has five multi-TD games in 12 starts this year, so it's hard to recommend him as anything more than an upside play or DFS tournament option. |
22 | Dak Prescott, Cowboys vs. Eagles |
23 | Josh Allen, Bills vs. Jets. Allen has rushed for at least 99 yards in each of the past two weeks. If he can continue to scramble at a high level, he will move up in our QB rankings, but his lack of receiving weapons currently limits his ceiling. |
24 | Derek Carr, Raiders vs. Steelers |
25 | Ryan Tannehill, Dolphins vs. Patriots |
26 | Colt McCoy, Redskins vs. Giants |
27 | Eli Manning, Giants @ Redskins |
28 | Josh Rosen, Cardinals vs. Lions |
29 | Jeff Driskel, Bengals @ Chargers |
30 | Sam Darnold, Jets @ Bills |
31 | Nick Mullens, 49ers vs. Broncos |
32 | Cody Kessler, Jaguars @ Titans |
