With the loaded bye week now passed, our Week 10 fantasy QB rankings get a bit of a boost. With the return of Carson Wentz, Andrew Luck, and Andy Dalton, the quarterback group gets some much-needed depth, especially with Kirk Cousins and Deshaun Watson getting a week off now. As always, there are plenty of options at the position, and there are always streamers to target on the waiver wire who could end up producing at a QB1 level thanks to favorable matchups.
This week, we really like the aforementioned Dalton in a favorable matchup with the Saints. Additionally, Alex Smith cracks the top 12 against the Buccaneers, as he just put up decent, if somewhat disappointing, numbers against a porous Atlanta defense. Given the state of the Bucs' secondary, he should be able to put up yardage again and hopefully get multiple TDs this week. Elsewhere, Baker Mayfield (vs. Falcons) and Ryan Fitzpatrick (vs. Redskins) both will continue to have high-volume opportunities and could be considered in deeper leagues.
Week 10 Rankings:
Running Back | Wide Receiver | Tight End | D/ST | Kicker
In terms of QBs to avoid this week, we're wary of a couple, but Andrew Luck (vs. Jaguars) and Matthew Stafford (@ Bears) have the toughest matchups. Luck is coming off a bye, but Marlon Mack could be the man to help beat the Jaguars, as their defense is much better against the pass than the run. As for Stafford, he was just heavily pressured by a Vikings team that limited him to no TDs. He could be in for a similarly difficult matchup against a stellar Bears defense that may see the return of their best player, Khalil Mack, in Week 10.
Note: These rankings will be adjusted throughout week, so check back often for the latest player movement updates and player analysis!
WEEK 10 PPR RANKINGS: Running back | Wide receiver | Tight end
Week 10 Fantasy Football Rankings: QBs
These rankings are for standard leagues with 6-point passing TDs.
1 | Drew Brees, Saints @ Bengals. Brees just hung 346 yards and four TDs on the Rams defense and gets a chance to take on a Bengals defense that allowed a combined 75.22 fantasy points to QBs in their past two games. This is a matchup that Brees should win. |
2 | Patrick Mahomes II, Chiefs vs. Cardinals. Mahomes has at least three passing TDs in the past four games and has thrown for at least 300 yards in eight straight games. He's a top-five lock every week. |
3 | Cam Newton, Panthers @ Steelers |
4 | Aaron Rodgers, Packers vs. Dolphins |
5 | Andy Dalton, Bengals vs. Saints. Even though the Bengals may be without A.J. Green, the Saints defense has struggled to contain QBs this year. They have allowed at least 23.56 fantasy points to the position in three consecutive games, and Dalton can take advantage of that type of defense at home. Plus, if the Bengals defense continues to give up yardage, this could be a positive game-script for Dalton, as he'll be forced to pass a lot while playing from behind. |
WEEK 10 DFS GPP LINEUPS: Yahoo | FanDuel | DraftKings
6 | Philip Rivers, Chargers @ Raiders. Rivers has multiple TDs in every game this season. The Raiders just allowed Nick Mullens to score 28.18 fantasy points against them and have allowed at least 25 fantasy points to QBs in five of their past six games. Rivers should have a field day -- especially if the Raiders look as lost in coverage as they did last Thursday night. |
7 | Matt Ryan, Falcons @ Browns |
8 | Carson Wentz, Eagles vs. Cowboys. Wentz is coming off a bye week while the Cowboys will be coming off a short week. That seems like a recipe for success, especially considering that Wentz has thrown for multiple TDs in five straight weeks and just dismantled a strong Jacksonville pass defense prior to his bye. |
9 | Ben Roethlisberger, Steelers vs. Panthers |
10 | Tom Brady, Patriots @ Titans. In three of the last four games, Brady has only one TD, as the Patriots have focused more on a ground-heavy attack in the red zone and have been successful in generating scores. The Titans have also been solid against QBs this year, allowing an average of just 18.21 FPPG to QBs (before their Week 9 Monday night clash with Dallas). That said, you can never justify sitting the GOAT, so he remains a low-end QB1 for this week. |
WEEK 10 DFS CASH LINEUPS: Yahoo | FanDuel | DraftKings
11 | Alex Smith, Redskins @ Buccaneers. Smith is coming off one of his most productive outings of the year against Atlanta, and he could be in for an even better day against the Buccaneers. The Bucs have allowed the most FPPG to QBs this year and were only able to limit one quarterback to fewer than 24.2 fantasy points (Nick Foles). Smith will need to have his first multi-TD game since Week 6 in order to be a really strong streaming option, but he should have a chance to do that as the Bucs have allowed multiple TDs to every QB they've faced this year with the exception of Foles. |
12 | Baker Mayfield, Browns vs. Falcons. Mayfield has thrown at least two TDs in each of the past three contests. The Falcons have limited Eli Manning and Alex Smith in recent weeks, but before that, they had allowed five three-plus-TD games in a row to QBs. With Mayfield likely to throw a lot in a potential shootout, he's a great streaming option this week. |
13 | Russell Wilson, Seahawks @ Rams. Last time Wilson played the Rams, he threw for three TDs. However, he also had fewer than 200 passing yards, so he may be a more TD-dependent option this week in a tougher matchup. Granted, the Rams have allowed some big games to QBs in recent weeks, but at home, they will at least have a chance to limit Wilson. Plus, Wilson is only averaging 27.6 pass attempts per game, good for last in the NFL. |
14 | Jared Goff, Rams vs. Seahawks. Goff had a pedestrian fantasy outing last time the Seahawks and Rams squared off. He could do better at home and has thrown three TDs in consecutive games, but those have been in shootouts. Also, the Seahawks have allowed the least FPPG to QBs and haven't allowed any to score more than 21.12 points since Week 1. Goff can surely be started, but we just happen to like some other options better this week. |
15 | Andrew Luck, Colts vs. Jaguars. Luck does have at least three passing TDs in five consecutive games and is coming off a bye, but the Jaguars have been very good in pass defense this year. They were the only team to limit Patrick Mahomes to zero passing TDs this year, so there's a good chance they can limit Luck. Even though Luck has been great this year, it may be better to look elsewhere just for this week. |
MORE WEEK 10: Values | Stacks | Lineup Builder
16 | Mitchell Trubisky, Bears vs. Lions. Trubisky didn't do much against the Bills, but that was more because his defense and running game helped carry the Bears to a victory. In a more competitive game against the Lions, Trubisky should have a chance to put up multiple TDs and scramble for more yardage than last week. The Lions did just limit Kirk Cousins, but their defense will have a much harder time playing at Soldier Field. |
17 | Ryan Fitzpatrick, Buccaneers vs. Redskins. It won't be pretty, but Fitzpatrick is becoming the king of garbage time. He has at least three TDs in four of the six games he has played in this season, and the Redskins were just torched by the Falcons. Fitzpatrick will probably have to throw a lot, given that Peyton Barber will probably be contained by the Redskins' strong run defense, and some of the quicker weapons -- like DeSean Jackson and Chris Godwin -- could get open vertically like the Falcons receivers did last week. That makes Fitzmagic an interesting streamer, at the very least. |
18 | Matthew Stafford, Lions @ Bears. Stafford got shut out by the Vikings last week in terms of TDs. On the road at Soldier Field, things are going to be hard for him again. The Bears have been hit or miss against QBs this year, allowing 18.74 or less points five times but 27.68 or more points thrice, but if Khalil Mack returns, the Stafford probably will fall into the former category. |
19 | Derek Carr, Raiders vs. Chargers. Carr was dreadful against the 49ers last week, but perhaps he'll be more motivated to prove himself at home in a divisional clash. The Chargers limited him to just 15.22 fantasy points last time they played, so he's not really a great option this week. |
20 | Dak Prescott, Cowboys @ Eagles |
21 | Marcus Mariota, Titans vs. Patriots |
22 | Blake Bortles, Jaguars @ Colts. Bortles is still teetering on the brink of getting benched, so we'd avoid him for now. |
23 | Brock Osweiler, Dolphins @ Packers |
24 | Eli Manning, Giants @ 49ers. The 49ers just shut down the Raiders. The Giants will likely give a better effort, but Manning just doesn't have the arm talent needed to put up a big game against the 49ers. |
25 | Josh Rosen, Cardinals @ Chiefs. This is a solid matchup for Rosen, but he hasn't shown nearly enough to be trusted as a fantasy starter yet. |
26 | Sam Darnold, Jets vs. Bills |
27 | Nick Mullens, 49ers vs. Giants. Mullens was good against the Raiders, but don't trust him here. The Giants defense is significantly better than that of the Raiders -- and that's saying something, because the Giants are a below-average unit. |
28 | Derek Anderson, Bills @ Jets. |
