India will take on Australia in the World Test Championship (WTC) Final which will be played at The Oval in London, England from June 7 to June 11.
Virat Kohli enters into the battle in fine form after excellent displays for Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in the India Premier League (IPL) this year, having scored 639 runs in 14 innings.
In Test cricket, Kohli has already broken records such as most wins as captain of India, with 40 wins out of 68 matches and four Test double-hundreds in four consecutive series. He could further add to his list of achievements against Australia in the WTC Final.

Which records can Virat Kohli surpass during WTC Final?
Here's the list of records Kohli can break against Australia-
1) Most runs by a player in ICC tournament knockout matches
Kohli has scored 620 runs in 15 innings at an average of 51.66 in International Cricket Council (ICC) knockout games. Should he put up a huge total against Australia in the WTC Final, he will overtake legends such as Sachin Tendulkar (657 runs in 14 knockout innings with one century and five fifties) and Ricky Ponting (731 in 18 innings with three centuries and a fifty), therefore making him the best runscorer in ICC knockout fixtures.
2) Most Test runs against a bowler
Were Kohli to put up a massive score against Australia's Nathan Lyon, he would overtake teammate Cheteshwar Pujara's record for most Test runs (570) against a bowler (also Lyon). Currently, Kohli has scored 511 runs against the Aussie spinner.
3) Most international runs by an Indian batter in England
If Kohli scores 72 runs or over he will cross current India coach Rahul Dravid's record of most runs in England. Dravid has piled on 2645 runs against in tricky conditions in England, while Kohli is currently on 2574 runs.
4) Cross 2000 runs and 5000 runs against Australia
Kohli needs 21 runs to cross 2000 runs against Australia in Test matches. Should he cross the 55-run mark he will also cross the 5000-run mark against them in international cricket as a whole.

5) Third-most ICC knockout appearances
With his appearance in the WTC Final, Kohli will surpass compatriots and former teammates Sachin Tendulkar and MS Dhoni as the player with the third-most appearances in ICC knockouts with 16 appearances, behind Yuvraj Singh (16) and Ricky Pointing (17)
6) 950 fours in Test cricket
If Kohli were to hit at least nine fours, he will go from 941 fours to 950 fours in Test cricket.
7) Second-most Test centuries by an Indian against Australia
Currently, Kohli has eight Test tons against Australia. Were he to score another he would have the second-highest centuries against the Aussies with nine hundreds, behind Tendulkar's 11.
8) Most international centuries by an Indian in SENA countries by the age of 34
SENA refers to the collective unit of South Africa, England, New Zealand and Australia, against whom Tendulkar scored 22 centuries by the age of 34 as opposed to Kohli's 21 hundreds. Should Kohli score a ton against Australia he would hold the record of joint-most centuries with 'The Maestro', were he to score two centuries, he will surpass him.

9) Fastest to 76 centuries
Kohli could break another of Tendulkar's records by becoming the fastest batsman to reach 76 centuries, doing so in 555 innings is he does score a ton against Australia, as opposed to Sachin's 587 innings.
10) Fourth-most centuries against a single opponent
Kohli currently has 16 centuries against Australia. Were he to score another he would have the joint-fourth-most centuries against an opponent -- along with Tendulkar who scored 17 against Sri Lanka. Were he to score a double century, he would jump the Indian batting legend to third place with 18 centuries.
11) Second Indian to score a century in an ICC Final
Were Kohli to score a century he would become only the second-ever Indian to score one in an ICC Final after Sourav Ganguly at the 2000 Champions Trophy.
