Australia has officially retained the Women's Ashes after holding on against England in the second ODI.

The 2023 series has well and truly lived up to expectations after beginning with a one-off Test match in June.

A five-day thriller of runs and records kicked off a fascinating battle and placed the Aussies firmly in the driver's seat before England's resilience and composure brought the series back to life in the white-ball games.

Women's Ashes 2023 standings

After Australia won the one-off Test at the start of the series, England began the white-ball matches with everything left to do. The fightback was immense, but ultimately not enough to win back the trophy.

Australia still needs to claim victory in the final ODI to win the series outright, but the Ashes are returning down under regardless.
