Seven runs in one ball! Yes, Pakistan fielders made it possible.

In an extraordinary turn of events during the four-day warm-up match between Pakistan and Prime Minister’s XI at the Manuka Oval in Canberra, Matthew Renshaw reached his half-century with 7 runs off a single ball.

In the penultimate ball of the 24th over, Renshaw's drive through the covers led to a series of hilarious events. Mir Hamza's full-stretch dive prevented a boundary. Renshaw was three away from his 50 and was happy to raise his bat after completing the third.

Hamza's strong throw from the deep was caught by Babar Azam at the non-striker’s end. In a brain fog moment, Babar threw the ball at the wicketkeeper with some power despite the batsman well and truly home, which resulted in a misfield.

The ball went between wicketkeeper Sarfaraz Ahmed and skipper Shan Masood, crossing the boundary ropes and allowing Renshaw to pick up seven off one delivery.

In the warm-up match, Pakistan declared at 391 for nine wickets, with skipper Shan Masood scoring an impressive third double-century in first-class cricket as he smashed 201 off 298 balls.

Pakistan's total included notable contributions from Abdullah Shafique (38), Babar (40), and Sarfaraz Ahmed (41) as well.

Jordan Buckingham turned out to be the best bowler for the Prime Minister's XI, taking five crucial wickets, and conceding only 80 runs from 23 overs.

What next for Pakistan?

Following the warm-up, Pakistan is set to face Pat Cummins’ Australia in the opening Test on December 14 at the Perth Stadium.
