Australia opener David Warner has no doubts his team can live up to the favourites' tag at the Cricket World Cup.

The co-hosts open their campaign on Saturday with a blockbuster clash against England in Melbourne.

Despite injury concerns surrounding captain Michael Clarke and all-rounder James Faulkner, Australia are considered favourites to win the World Cup for a fifth time.

Warner, a key part of his side's chances, is confident they can deliver.

"We've got the perfect squad. The selectors have picked a fantastic squad and the squad they believe is going to lift the trophy at the end," he told RSN Sports Radio on Tuesday.

"Our preparation has been spot on, the tri-series leading up, the game the other night [against India] and the game against the UAE as well.

"The boys have been very clinical in their preparation and everyone is looking forward to getting out there."

However, Warner is hopeful Clarke and Faulkner will be fit for most of the tournament - labelling the duo an integral part of Darren Lehmann's team.

"Him [Clarke] and Jimmy are an incredible part of this team and this unit," he said.

"We've been wishing Michael every success to get out on the park and hopefully we see him out there sooner rather than later."
