The first-ever Super Over in the T20 World Cup took place in the 2012 T20 World Cup when Sri Lanka took on New Zealand at Pallekele. It was Sri Lanka who won on that occasion.
There have been only four Super Overs in T20 World Cup history, with two of them coming in 2012 and the rest of the two in the ongoing 2024 T20 World Cup.
