Legendary South Africa paceman Dale Steyn has taken to social media to confirm his retirement from all three forms of the game.
The 38-year-old played 93 Tests, 125 ODIs and 47 T20s for the Proteas accross a decorated 17-year career.
He retires as the eighth-highest wicket taker in Test cricket history having snared 439 scalps at an elite average of 22.95.
The likeable South African, who retired from the longer format in 2019, also claimed 196 ODI wickets and had 64 victims in T20 Internationals.

“Today I officially retire from the game I love the most,” Steyn tweeted on Wednesday night.

“Thank you to everyone, from family to teammates, journalists to fans, it’s been an incredible journey together.
“… It’s been 20 years of training, matches, travel, wins, losses, strapped feet, jet lag, joy and brotherhood,” he wrote.
“There are too many memories to tell. Too many faces to thank.”
