RR vs RCB IPL 2024: Score, result, highlights as RR beat RCB by 6 wickets image

Match 19 of the 2024 edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) saw a 'Royal' clash unfold, as the Rajasthan Royals (RR) hosted the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur.

Batting first, the visitors scored a par score of 183 runs, courtesy of a heroic knock from their talisman, Virat Kohli. Kohli scored his eighth IPL century, as he anchored his team with an unbeaten 113-run knock.

Cricket is a team sport, and alone, one can only do so much. In response, Rajasthan Royals duo Sanju Samson (69) and Jos Buttler (100*) made sure the effort from Kohli was negated, as RR scored 189 runs in just over 19 overs to extend their unbeaten run to four matches.

RR vs RCB: Live Updates

11:05 PM: RR beat RCB by 6 wickets. 100 FOR Jos Buttler! What a commanding knock this, from the Englishman! Buttler brings up his century with the last hit of the game. It was written in the stars, as the RR opener scored a century off just 59 deliveries.

RCB lose their third match in a row, while RR are unbeaten in their opening four games. Jos Buttler's heroics have ensured that the home side's winning-streak remains intact! RCB's miseries continue to mount, losing four of their opening five matches in IPL 2024. Sanju Samson (69) and Jos Buttler (93*) did enough damage to seal the deal for RR.

10:45 PM: RCB 160-3 after 16 overs. The hosts require 24 runs off as many deliveries to win the match. Sanju Samson was dismissed by Mohammad Siraj, and so was Riyan Parag by Yash Dayal. But the damage seems to be done, already. The game is almost destined, barring any miracle from the RCB bowlers. Dhruv Jurel and Jos Buttler (80*) would want to win the game for RR, as soon as possible. RCB are on track for their third consecutive loss of IPL 2024.

10:16 PM: RR 95-1 after 10 overs. RR are seven runs ahead of where RCB where, at the half-way stage. The hosts have scored 41 runs in the last four overs, and are running away with the game. Jos Buttler (50*) scored his 20th IPL half-century, with Sanju Samson (44*) showing equal intent, if not more. Let's not forget, Riyan Parag is yet to come. RCB are in need of wickets, and those wickets need to come in bundles!

9:50 PM: RR are 54-1 after 6 overs. After the early setback in the first over with Jaiswal's wicket, RR have come back stronger to finish the powerplay on a high! The hosts are scoring at a par rate, with both Jos Buttler (39*) and Sanju Samson (15*) providing stability in the middle.

9:25 PM: We are back for the run chase!  Yashasvi Jaiswal and Jos Buttler are in the middle for the hosts, while Reece Topley marks his run-up from the other end. RR need 184 runs in their 20 overs to keep their unbeaten run going.

9:11 PM: RCB finish their innings at 183-3. WHAT A KNOCK FROM VIRAT 'KING' KOHLI!!! He got his eighth IPL century, scoring an unbeaten 113 off 72 balls. He didn't score as quickly initially, but switched gears in the second half of the innings. It's a decent total on this Jaipur surface.

8:48 PM: RCB 144-2 after 16 overs. This is turning out to be a fabulous knock from Kohli, who is approaching his eighth IPL hundred. The dismissals of Faf and Maxwell haven't held him back and he's scoring at a good rate. Can RCB reach 200?

8:11 PM: RCB 88-0 after 10 overs. This has been a great start by RCB openers Kohli and Faf, who have put on 88 runs in the first 10 overs. RR are in desperate need of a wicket, and they have turned to part-time bowler Riyan Parag.

7:50 PM: RCB 45-0 after 5 overs. Kohli and Du Plessis are off to a good start.

7:30 PM: We are about to get underway! Trent Boult has the new ball in his hand. Virat Kohli set to face him. Here we go!

7:01 PM: The toss is done! RR skipper Sanju Samson wins the toss and chooses to bowl first.
