Chris Rogers has rejoined Australia's squad and will continue to be monitored ahead of the third Ashes Test against England at Edgbaston.
The opening batsman retired ill during the second Test at Lord's after suffering a dizzy spell, two days after being struck on the helmet by a James Anderson delivery.
Rogers was cleared of suffering concussion symptoms and was diagnosed with a vestibular injury that affected his inner ear and made him lose balance.
The 37-year-old stayed behind in London to receive treatment, but has now linked up with the rest of his team-mates who are playing a tour match against Derbyshire.
"Chris continues to improve and has rejoined the team in Nottingham on Friday night," team doctor Peter Brukner told Cricket Australia's official website.
"He will continue to increase his level of activity over the next couple of days and will be closely monitored by team medical staff."
Shaun Marsh is on standby to replace Rogers should he not recover in time for the start of the third Test on Wednesday, and he showed his form with a century against Derbyshire on Thursday.
