The two sides are set to meet in their first red-ball assignment after the global event, as Pakistan fly Down Under for a three-match Test series, beginning on December 14 in Brisbane. The tour is Pakistan's first under new Test captain Shan Masood, who was appointed after Babar Azam stepped down after the World Cup.

Before the start of the competitive games, Pakistan took on the Prime Minister's XI in a warm-up match in Canberra starting on December 6, and the game courted some controversy on Day 1.

Racist slur seen on Australian cricket broadcast?

Cricket Australia had made the match available to Australian viewers, but journalist Daany Saeed caught a key detail on the broadcast that had the potential to turn into a much bigger issue.

On broadcast scoreboards, the general abbreviation for 'Pakistan' is 'PAK' but in this instance the display showed 'PAKI'. The word 'Paki' has often been used in Western countries to refer to people of Pakistani and/or Indian subcontinental origin in a derogatory fashion, and carries racist connotations.

At the end of day 2 of the warm-up match, the PM's XI were 149/2 after Pakistan scored 391/9 declared, on the back of captain Shan Masood's unbeaten double century.
