Pakistan, having been set a challenging target of 369 going into day five in Hamilton, are fighting to win the second Test and earn a 1-1 draw in New Zealand ahead of three Tests in Australia, starting with a day/night series opener in Brisbane on December 15.

Ranked second in the world pending the outcome of their contest against the Black Caps and other results, Pakistan, having drawn in England earlier this year, will be hopeful of impressing against Steve Smith's team, who slumped to a 2-1 defeat at home to South Africa this month.

Two newcomers for the tour of New Zealand, Sharjeel Khan, uncapped at Test level, and Mohammad Rizwan, who is playing in his long-form debut at Seddon Park, have both been retained.

Pakistan squad: Misbah-ul-Haq (captain), Azhar Ali, Sami Aslam, Sharjeel Khan, Younis Khan, Asad Shafiq, Babar Azam, Sarfraz Ahmed, Mohammad Rizwan, Yasir Shah, Mohammad Nawaz, Mohammad Amir, Wahab Riaz, Rahat Ali, Sohail Khan, Imran Khan.
