While people may have different choices on who is the best Test and T20 batter of this generation, there is room for no such debate when we talk about ODI cricket. Virat Kohli has ruled the fifty-over format for over a decade now and inarguably sits at the top of the ladder in terms of top ODI batters of this era.

ODI cricket has given Kohli a lot, and the love is mutual. In an interview with Star Sports, the 34-year-old delved on why he adores the format and shared the reasons behind his startling success.

"I love playing ODI cricket. For me, ODI cricket is one format which tests your game completely - your technique, your composure, patience, playing the situation and playing differently in different phases," Virat said as quoted to Star Sports.

Kohli believes that ODI cricket gives him an opportunity to test himself. The right-hander added that he takes that challenge head on.

"That's why I feel like ODI cricket has always brought the best out of me because I like to embrace that challenge. I always try to play according to the situation to make my team win. It provides me an opportunity to test myself regularly. That's why I really enjoy playing ODI cricket," he stated.
