Ireland all-rounder Kevin O'Brien has been fined 30 per cent of his match fee after questioning an umpire's decision in Wednesday's two-wicket Cricket World Cup win over UAE.

O'Brien was found to have breached level one of the International Cricket Council's Code of Conduct when he questioned the umpire in the 48th over after one of his deliveries was adjudged wide.

The 30-year-old continued his remonstrations, with on-field umpires Michael Gough and Nigel Llong, third umpire Kumar Dharmasena and fourth umpire Billy Bowden subsequently reporting him.

OBrien admitted to a breach of conduct, related to "showing dissent at an umpire's decision during an international match".
